She finds the experience of sharing stories through the spoken word to have a profound power to enlighten and educate and conducts storytelling workshops for adults and teachers. Through her school residency programs, she helps children to tell and write their own stories. Lorraine particularly enjoys combining art and story in unique hands-on workshops for children and adults. She lives in the Hudson Valley region of New York State.

Workshops for Adults -- Why Should Kids Have All the Fun? -- a new series of library programs by Lorraine. Lorraine combines story and art in her work with adults. Stories touch the hearts of everyone. The vivid images found in stories provide the basis for concrete projects such as masks, dolls, altered art boxes and story murals. In these workshops, participants use the images in a story to create a piece of art that expresses personal connections with the story.
